Matariki
Each year our hapori reo celebrates Matariki with a kai , kōrero and whānaungatanga. Each year we celebrate differently, whether it be an early karanga on to the beach, breakfast together, karaoke , dinner or weeding in the maara. Time spent together with our whānau is what we celebrate the most.
2022
After our Matariki breakfast with the whānau, we spent the morning in the maara.
2021
We had a special celebration with the whānau of Hikoikoi Pa this year. A beautiful karanga on to the beach in the early hours of the morning followed by kōrero and whānaungatanga around the ahi.
2020
A subdued celebration this year. Several months after lockdown and after months being online , we tentatively came back together in person to celebrate with kai and waiata.
2019
We celebrated this year with Karaoke and Kai!
